About FOTS
Friends of the School (FOTS) is a parent-led volunteer group supporting Whangamatā Area School through practical help, community connection, and (when approved) fundraising for bigger projects.
Who we are
FOTS brings together parents, caregivers, whānau, and local supporters who want to contribute time, skills, and ideas to help the school flourish. We work in coordination with school leadership to make sure efforts align with school priorities and approvals.

Purpose
Friends of Whangamatā Area School Incorporated exists to advance education and support the wellbeing of students at Whangamatā Area School by providing funding, resources, and community support.
Activities
The Society carries out its purposes by:
- Fundraising through events, sponsorship, grants, and donations
- Supporting school-approved projects that enhance learning environments, facilities, and student wellbeing (including playground development and outdoor learning spaces)
- Organising community initiatives and volunteer activities such as working bees
- Strengthening connections between the school and wider community to support educational outcomes
